Finding land suitable for this significant 90-Bed Aged Care and 32 Independent Unit Retirement Village was the first challenge.

Its location - within the Happy Valley catchment zone - brought with it the next challenge.

Due to the size of the project and the need to vacate residents from the existing facilities the project was undertaken in two stages. When stage 1 was completed, residents from the old facility were transferred to their new home.

To meet time constraints and budget Brimblecombe Builders initiated a range of construction options with outstanding success.

Off-site pre-fabrication of lightweight steel frames was a first of its kind on this scale. Further lightweight cladding replaced brick construction, which additionally provided fresh and innovative design resolutions in the appearance of the complex.

Aspects of this project included extensive site build-up of two metres and complex civil and infrastructure works.  Due to careful planning, Stage 1 was able to be occupied whilst Stage 2 was still under construction. 

This was achieved without compromising residents’ enjoyment of their new surroundings.  This is a testament to the professionalism and care of the Brimblecombe team.
