Refurbishing an Alberton Icon - The Fos Williams Grandstand

 

Restored Fos Williams Grandstand
Brimblecombe Builders restored the Fos Williams Stand at Alberton Oval  in time for the 2016 Family Day.

This was the culmination of 3 stages of remediation and restoration. The final stage involved the removal of asbestos, waterproofing, rendering and airconditioning. Amenities were also updated.

Grandstand – conservation works

 

Works included repairs and replacement of the high level fascias and detailed barges to feature gables on the grandstand, removal of the existing heritage cast balustrade panels and sand blasting and repainting same, treatment of rusted roof connection members, partial roof replacement to gable valleys and valley boards and repainting of the Southern elevation of the grandstand.

Players amenities conservation works  –

 

Heritage window repairs and replacement including glazing, roof repairs, repairs to deteriorated render, window surrounds, replace louvered vents, replace deteriorated fascia and scotias, repair window coping, external and internal painting – refer to the attached joinery.
