Kitchen Roof Replacement & Air-conditioning Upgrade
Brimblecombe Builders have undertaken numerous projects at Government House over many years, the vast majority of the works requiring heritage considerations due to the age and prominence of the building.
One such stage was the external window repairs and facade remediation.
The repairs and upgrading of the windows and the facade progressed systematically around the complete perimeter of the building. The Governor and the staff remained in occupation whilst the works were undertaken so noise and disruptive activities had to be controlled.
Works also needed to be undertaken around scheduled functions at Government House.
Brimblecombe Builders were also successful with their submission to undertake the replacement of the existing Kitchen roof at Government House on North Terrace Adelaide SA which also involved the requirement to replace several air-conditioning units and remove and reinstate others to allow the roof replacement to occur.
The challenge was to be able to complete the works whilst maintaining the operations of the working kitchen. This was achieved without incident and in a timely manner as to minimise any disruption.
Works commenced in early November 2014 and reached Practical Completion in Late December 2014 and within budget
